KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency)
A Foreign Investment Statistics System
BI MATRIX has built three investment statistics systems using its own products: the Overseas Direct Investment Statistics System for the Export-Import Bank of Korea established in 2018, the Foreign Investment Statistics System (INSC) for KOTRA, which was launched in 2022, and the Vietnam Investment Statistics System for KOICA, which is currently under construction following a contract completion in February 2022!
This is because the AUD Platform offered by BI MATRIX is best equipped to provide the high data consistency required by investment statistics systems and the Self-BI functionality that allows anyone to easily perform statistical analysis.

The existing Foreign Investment Statistics System at KOTRA was built using another company’s OLAP solution. However, due to aging and the cessation of maintenance support, the performance of data analysis and report creation deteriorated, and there was no way to guarantee data consistency, leading to a lack of reliability in the system. | As a result, KOTRA decided to adopt BI MATRIX’s Low-Code integrated UI development solution, the AUD Platform, which ensures the consistency and accuracy of analytical data. This decision was based on BI MATRIX’s successful experience in building the Overseas Direct Investment Statistics System for the Export-Import Bank of Korea. |
What is the Foreign Investment Statistics System (INSC)?
The Foreign Investment Statistics System (INSC) is a system where the entrusted organization verifies and inputs the information based on reports submitted by foreign investors. It allows officials to analyze the required statistical data.
In this project, BI MATRIX focused on ensuring the consistency and accuracy of key analytical data, while enhancing the integration of data usage and user convenience by building the Foreign Investment Statistics System in three main areas.

Replace existing OLAP solutions with AUD Platform | Converting existing Database to stable open-source Databse | Implementation environment environment using Low-Code functionality |
First, KOTRA replaced the OLAP solution they were previously using for statistical processing with the “AUD Platform” and transitioned the existing database to a stable open-source DB, improving the consistency of statistical data and query performance.
Additionally, by utilizing the low-code functionality of the “AUD Platform,” BI MATRIX implemented a user-friendly analysis environment, increasing satisfaction among the field staff.
Low-Code Functionality of the AUD Platform
The Low-Code functionality of the “AUD Platform” minimizes the amount of coding required for business system screens, enabling even beginner developers or non-experts to quickly and easily create the desired screens.
BI MATRIX applied this Low-Code feature to the Foreign Investment Statistics System, allowing field staff to directly create statistical analysis screens without coding. This facilitated the creation of a self-BI environment for performing analysis tasks.
The analysis screens created can easily be visualized using infographic dashboard templates.
In addition, the SQL coding automation feature allows users to easily extract and analyze database data with just a few simple clicks, without the need for SQL coding. The HTML5 screen development automation feature enables field staff to easily convert the Excel reports they were using into HTML5, without any Java (JAVA) coding. These features significantly improved the data analysis productivity of the field staff.
A representative from BI MATRIX stated:
“With the low-code functionality of the ‘AUD Platform’ significantly improving the productivity of statistical analysis screen development and the efficiency of analysis tasks, we were able to secure projects from the Export-Import Bank of Korea, KOTRA, and most recently, KOICA. In the past, investment statistics systems were mainly developed using foreign solutions or SI, but as the excellence of domestic solutions has become more recognized, inquiries related to the ‘AUD Platform’ at BI MATRIX have been steadily increasing. We are committed to successfully completing the KOICA Vietnam project, scheduled for completion by 2023, and continue to enhance the reputation of domestic software.”
